Happy New Year from Marina Amada Art Projects
2020 was the year when art was explicitly categorized as a non-essential activity by governments in most countries. What can art do in such a time? Without a concrete answer in mind, I came to Nice this winter to co-curate an exhibition titled NÔUS — and we ended with an incredible result.
During eight days in December 2020 we exhibited 64 artists, 106 works, 7 performance events, 8 online workshops and 2 types of mail art — all in unconventional spaces such as a private estate, a pharmacy, a bookstore, a weekly protest march, mailboxes and virtual websites.
2021 will continue to be a challenging year, but remember to take care of your inspirations, share them with others, and develop them into ideas.
